On the trip to Portugal and Spain earlier this year, I was better prepared to start blogging right away; the blogging on this trip has hit a few roadbocks. First, I did not set up the website in advance for this trip – a big mistake because I have already forgotten many of the WordPress techniques which I learned by trial and error. On my earlier trip, I had time to play with the website each day while Sage and Jasper had their naps. On this trip I have not had (for various reasons) large chunks of time to post daily blogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The extra length of the flights took quite a bit out of all of us (The trip was particularly hard for Brandon and the issues with his leg which he is dealing with.) So, we have done more napping than usual. Fortunately, this is a post- retirement skill at which I have become quite proficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working on the website and uploading content requires internet access. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the wifi at our Air B&B did not work for the first several days. I was amazed at how discombobulated we all felt by not having easy internet access. I exacerbated the situation because I had not already downloaded an esim card for my phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other disruption is our health. Brandon, who had not had it yet, has come down with COVID-19 and it derailed him for a couple of days. I either have a mild version of COVID-19 or a mild cold. Marley is similar to me and Payton ran a mild fever one night. (Payton was vaccinated recently and I had my last booster a week before we left.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A long story short- I have had difficulty getting a good blogging routine established. I should now be able to work on it regularly and hopefully catch up a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
