The weather is great again today – sunny and clear but with a nice breeze and warm but not too hot. We are planning another walk to the large beach which, if I understand the signs correctly is about 5k long where you can walk on the sand or on a parallel boardwalk (actual boards and not cobblestones).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is bit of an issue about my understanding the signage. This is not really a surprise since I do not know any Portuguese. For example, when we stopped for our morning coffee during our walk, I asked for them “to go” but they came in glassware because I was supposed to say “takeaway”. I also ordered a “Fredo cappuccino” thinking it was a house special and expecting it to be hot. It came cold – I think I just learned the word for “iced”. Fortunately, most everyone seems to have at least some English and are pleasantly patient with me. (It’s possible that I get special treatment because I anm with Sage and Jasper!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach was not busy at all. It is definitely the off season here. Quite a few of the restaurants seem to be closed for the season (not that there is any shortage).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After castle building at the beach, we walked back to town, had lunch and settled Sage (this seems unusually easy – mind, I am not having to do it). Jesse and Laura are lucky (or have done a good job) because Sage does not fuss about going to bed either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our late afternoon and evening was low key – some gelato, another exploring stroll and a nice dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow we leave Logos and have a 4 hour drive to Cadiz, Spain. I have read a bit about Cadiz in the last couple of days. Apparently, it is the oldest settlement in Western Europe and may go back as far as 1100 B.C. I am looking forward to seeing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
