My perception of time is going through its usual holiday confusion. Initially, each day seems to go slowly then at some point (like now) the days go by in a blur. At the same time, leaving Seattle seems both like yesterday and like a long time ago.

Our plan for the day was to see the Catedral de Seville (I think this is the Spanish spelling of cathedral – but remember I am the guy who has trouble with Spanish e!evators). According to our Google research, this is the second largest cathedral in the world.

Our weather luck continues – it rained overnight but it is mainly sunny this morning. The cathedral is a fairly short walk from our Air B & B and the plaza on which we approached it was already busy. It is a truly large, spectacular structure. I will need to read more about the cathedral. I would like to know it’s backstory and, in particular, how long it took to build. Any pictures of the cathedral which I post will not convey it’s impressive size. (I will have to ask some of my photographer friends how to effectively photograph something so large.)

There are already queues for tickets and we fairly quickly learn that it is necessary to have a ticket for a particular time and that we should have pre-ordered our tickets online the day before. (You can schedule your time and it is cheaper – this seems to be the best strategy for all similar attractions.).

So, we have booked a time online to see the cathedral for later today. We have used this unstructured time now available to explore the maze of streets some more, purchase groceries and, of course, have our morning coffee and then tapas for lunch.

This afternoon will be much more structured because, immediately after the tour of the cathedral, we have tickets to see some flamenco dancing.

It is hard to believe that it is now two weeks since we flew out of Seattle.
