February 20th – To Cadiz from Lagos

I felt a bit sad to leave Lagos because we had a good time here but I am excited to see Cadiz. Spain. We were able to eat, pack up and get out of the house by 9:00 a.m. (pretty impressive considering all the moving parts).

The highway was very good and the trip was uneventful with one rest stop to play (and get gas) and a picnic lunch in Huelva. We arrived in Cadiz about 5:00 p.m

Our Air B & B is in the old part of the city again. So, more old buildings and narrow streets. We parked the car in a public parkade (small parking spots) and walked to our rental. The luggage is a bit much to carry but manageable over a short distance. However, our Air B & B is on the 4th floor (remember, they start with zero – so 5 stories) and we couldn’t figure out the elevator initially. So,we got our exercise today.

After settling in, we explored a bit (ate again, of course) and did some shopping so we can make our own breakfasts and snacks. The grocery store was pretty big. I enjoyed the store, finding the differences from the stores at home interesting.

After Sage was put to bed, we had some special chilled sherry and great local cheese that my two foodie tour guides had picked up as we strolled along to accompany the chocolate covered hazelnuts (Willpower – don’t fail me now!).
