The next stages of trip required some last minute scrambling. After deciding to go to Lucca, we had to figure out how to travel. Using their phones (I really need to get better at this – if only to be able to find my way around the maze that the streets of these old cities create), Marley and Brandon were able to:
- book an Air B &B in Lucca;
- rent a car;
- arrange for a infant seat to be delivered to our Rome accomodation;
- arrange for a ride back to the airport to get the car;
- navigate out of the airport;
- find our way to the highway;
- get us to Lucca;
- locate our Lucca Air B & B in a new maze in the midst of a heavy rain shower in the near dark;
- find a parking lot for the car (there was no parking where we were staying;
with nary a sharp word amongst us (Marley did yell “watch for that semi” a couple of times!).
