May 26th – Levanto

Today we opted for another relaxing day in Levanto. We got access to our new unit and were able to move first thing in the morning. This freed up the balance of the day for us.

We had a leisurely breakfast (Brandon made French toast and I had bought some Starbucks coffee pods for the Nespresso machine). The weather was great so we decided to do the walk to Bonassola. I walked the route while Brandon and Marley biked. Payton enjoyed riding in the baby seat in front of mom.

The walkway was great – it was flat (an old rail bed), paved and clearly marked to separate the pedestrians from the cyclists. It worked well for me as a lot of the route was in the tunnels – cool and shady. (Apparently, you can walk quite a bit further along this old rail bed with longer stretches of tunnels – we did not do this.)

We connected in Bonassla and had a pleasant lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the beach and ocean. The beach was nice and a bit busy but nothing like Cinque Terre. After a nice walk (and ride) back, we relaxed at our Air B &. B before preparing dinner (pasta – another bad habit).

Levanto was quieter today and very pleasant.. We have one more full day here.
