We enjoyed our stay in Riva del Garda and were a bit sad to leave. It is, I think, a sign of a good trip that we have felt the same way leaving Rome, Lucca and Levanto as well!
Riva del Garda is in the north of Italy and we have to make our way back to Rome to catch our flight home on June 5th. So, we decided to break the driving into two shorter trips. Today we have driven to Travarnelle which is in a different part of Tuscany than Lucca.
Our trip went well. Travelling on the Italian expressways is easy and similar to driving at home. The scenery varied; mountains around Lake Garda, a lot of flat land with agriculture (and industry) and then picturesque rolling hills in Tuscany. Tuscany here is pretty much as I imagined it to be like.
Our Air B & B is very nice – nice patio, great views, hot tub. As I finish off this post, I am sitting under cover on the patio as a thunderstorm rolls in. The others have gone to try and pick up some groceries. I am not sure what I should do next – nap? (again) or start the great Canadian novel (aren’t people inspired to write in Tuscany)?
Ciao
